Matcha Café Interior Design in Helsinki

The owners of a new tea store in Helsinki approached me to design a calm, minimal space inspired by the principles of wabi-sabi, where simplicity, natural materials, and quiet imperfection define the atmosphere. The concept was developed to complement their focus on green tea based products, creating a serene environment that enhances the customer experience.

The final design is an atmospheric retail interior that highlights raw, tactile materials such as brick, plaster, wood, and metal, celebrating natural textures and subtle contrasts. The space reflects the essence of the brand’s grounded, authentic, and mindful, while offering a refined setting for customers to explore and enjoy their products.
